The DMS Basketball cheerleaders recently attended a UCA home camp from July 18th-20th. While at camp, they learned new material and stunts.
The basketball cheer squad received credentialing during the program training, which provides training in leadership, safety and the five roles of the cheerleader- crowd leader, spirit raiser, ambassador, athlete and entertainer. As a team, the squad received the UCA 2022 superior trophy for their overall camp performance and a superior ribbon for their game day performance.
As individuals, five members were selected for the UCA All American team including Annali Garcia, Brylee Kirby, Jaycee Daley, Karah Ford and Kaydence Johnson. In addition to joining the UCA All American Team, these individuals are now invited to perform at special events across the country and display their best cheerleading skills.
Seven members of the squad received individual awards. Jaycee Daley received the camp super star award as well as the best dancer award. Karah Ford received the award for best jumps. Erin Foster received the award for stunting. Madison Johnson received the versatility award. Ava Wardlaw received the award for outstanding leadership. Jazelle Featherston received the sunshine award for the most spirit. Annabelle Merriman received the award for most improved.
