DCHS senior, Aaron Gottlied, qualified as an individual for the TSSAA Division 1 A-AA State Cross Country Championships on Wednesday, October 26, at Macon County High School. This marks the fourth year in a row that Gottlied has qualified for this event. He finished the race with a time of 17:45 for the hilly 5K course.
The DCHS boys cross country team placed fifth overall in a field of 24 teams at the Region-4 meet held on Macon County High School's cross country course. The top four teams advance to the State Meet. Even with great performances from all the DCHS runners, the DeKalb boys were still one spot shy of heading to States as a team.
The following teammates raced in the Region-4 meet.

The DeKalb Middle School cross country team had an outstanding showing at the Dual Cross Country Meet between border rival Warren County Middle School.
Eighth graders Ben Driver and Kaylee Kent won the male and female division, with times of 12:42 and 15:11 for the two-mile course. Sixth grader, Landon Brown, placed in the top three with a time of 14:10. Close behind him was teammate Timothy Campbell with a time of 15:49, followed by Zander Simpson 17:07.
Kent was followed by teammates Emily Fry 16:34, and Bella Franz 21:35.
The two-mile terrain consisted of grass, gravel and pavement.
