Junior football playoffs begin

It’s playoff time for youth football with all three Tiger teams playing at Upperman this Saturday.

According to DeKalb County Youth Football League Director Casey Midgett, games will be happening all day at the Upperman field beginning with the youngest division where the Peewee squad, which earned the number three seed in their division takes on number-two seed, Smith County. Winners will advance, those who come up short will go home for the season. Peewees will kick off at 10 a.m.

The junior squad won the season championship for the conference and will be the number-one seed. They will be taking on host Upperman which fell to the four seed. They play at 2:30 p.m.

The day will be capped off by the senior league Tigers who took the third seed. They will play Smith County at 4 p.m.
