The DeKalb West School Lady Bulldogs basketball season got underway last week, with a couple of home games and one on the road.

On Monday, November 6, the ladies were at home hosting Southside for the first game of the season. DWS would come away with a big win.

The Lady Bulldogs scored seven points in the first period, with a two-pointer and a free throw by Camille Barton, a two-pointer by Sophie Desimone, and a pair of free throws by Autumn Crook. Southside was held to just two points.

Desimone sank a three-pointer for the Lady Bulldogs in the second period, while Crook added a two-pointer. Southside was shut out of the second period, giving DWS the 12-2 halftime lead.

DeKalb really got moving in the third period, with 11 points added to the board. Barton sank three two-point baskets, while Katelyn Fry hit a two-point shot, and Crook added a two-pointer and a free throw. Southside managed two points, giving DWS the 23-4 lead.

The Lady Bulldogs ended the game with six more points, a pair of two-point baskets by Barton, and a two-pointer by fry. Again, Southside was shut out of the period, giving DWS the 29-4 victory.

The following evening the ladies were back on their home court, this time hosting Caroll Oakland. It would be another dominating night for DWS.

The Lady Bulldogs scored nine points in the first period. Sophie Desimone hit a two-pointer, a three-pointer, and a pair of free throws, while Barton added a two-point shot. Caroll Oakland was held to just four points.

DWS added six to the board in the second period, with a couple of two-point baskets by Barton and one by Desimone. Caroll Oakland was shut out of the second, giving DeKalb the 15-4 lead at the half.

Kaylee Womack got in on the action for the Lady Bulldogs in the third period, sinking a pair of two-point shots and a free throw, while Barton added a couple of free throw points. Once again Caroll Oakland was shut out of the period. DWS was up 22-4.

The Lady Bulldogs added eight points in the fourth period, with a three-pointer by Desimone, a free throw and a two-pointer by Autumn Crook, and a two-pointer by Barton. Caroll Oakland put one more two-pointer on the board, but DeKalb claimed the 30-6 win.

On Thursday, the ladies were on the road, traveling to Wilson Elementary where they would dominate once again.

The Lady Bulldogs scored 19 points in the first period, Desimone hitting a couple of two-point baskets, and a pair of three-pointers, while Autumn Crook sank a couple of two-pointers and three free throws. Kaylee Womack had a couple of free throw points. Wilson was shut out of the first period.

DeKalb scored eight points in the second period, with Womack sinking a couple of two-pointers, while Barton had a two-pointer and a free throw. Crook also had a free throw. Wilson was again shut out, giving DWS the 27-0 lead at halftime.

The ladies put 15 more points on the board in the third. Desimone had a three-point shot and a couple of two-pointers, while Crook added a couple of two-point baskets as well. Barton and Womack each had two-pointers also. Wilson finally got on the board with a two-pointy basket, but DWS commanded a 42-2 lead.

The Lady Bulldogs ended the game with six more points from a pair of two-point shots from Crook and one from Barton. Wilson would not see another point, with DWS taking the 48-2 victory.
