The DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints are sitting pretty, winning three of their first four games, placing the soccer squad firmly in the playoff race.
The Lady Saints kicked off their year with a win over rival Upperman, 5-0 and then went on to take a win at Prescott, 2-1.
“We had a hiccup at Cumberland County,” admitted Head Coach Justin Nokes of their 5-0 loss in Crossville.
However, the Lady Saints righted the ship when they finally got to play their first home game Thursday, upending Avery Trace 6-1. The Lady Saints were led to victory by Caroline Tobbitt who had a hat trick with three goals. Raven Savage, Rylee Garmer and Melody Beltran each had a goal in the win.
The Lady Saints are 2-1 in conference as they eye a spot in the playoffs. The top six teams in the conference get to go on to post season play.
The Lady Saints next travel to Macon County on Friday, Sept. 7 for a 6 p.m. kick.
