Lady Tigers defeat Trousdale, lose two in tourney

The Lady Tigers went 2-1 on the season after a 59-43 win at Trousdale County last Monday night.

 

DeKalb outscored Trousdale 13-2 in the first period of the game, and increased the margin to 31-16 by halftime. The Lady tigers held a 46-31 lead at the end of the third, and were ahead 59-43 when time ran out.

 

Hannah Panter led DeKalb with 14 points, while Mya Ruch and Lydia Brown scored 12 each for the Lady Tigers. Macy Hedge scored nine, Maddison Parsley put in five, Emme Colwell was good for three, and Abby Evans and Sophie Cripps added two points each.

 

DeKalb traveled to Woodbury to participate in the Cannon county Thanksgiving Classic on Nov 25-26, first facing Murfeesboro Oakland.

 

The Lady Tigers fell 64-38 to Oakland. The team from Murfreesboro took a convincing early lead, outpacing the Lady Tigers 24-6 in the first. Oakland expanded their lead to 51-11 at halftime.

 

By the end of the third, Oakland led 53-22, and they went on to win 64-38. Lydia Brown and Macy Hedge led the DeKalb scorecard with seven points each in the contest. Hanah Panter put six points up in the game, Mya Ruch and Emme Colwell scored four each, Joni Robinson and Nichole Coffey added three each, and Kenzie France scored two points each.

 

The Lady Tigers also faced Providence Christian in the tourney, losing a tight game 46-41 on Saturday.

 

DeKalb faced Gordonsville in Smithville on Nov. 28 (more on this game next week), Will host Central Magnet Friday night, and will travel to Jamestown Tuesday to take on York Institute.
