Major League TYBA baseball winds up season

The season for DeKalb County TYBA’s (Tennessee Youth Baseball Association) Major League teams has drawn to an end. Tournaments will be held this week, and an awards ceremony will be held on June 13 at 6 p.m.

 

With only three teams in the league this year, it was necessary that one team play a double header every game night. Rice’s Tigers drew the double-header card on the first night of play, facing Robert’s Ice in the early game and Webb’s Pharmacy in the late contest on May 2.

 

RT did not fare well in either game, falling 13-2 to RI and 17-2 when they faced WP. RT’s sole hit in the first match, a single, came from the bat of Elishah Ramos, while Tyler Estes and Kolter Kilgore hit two singles each, and Konner Young belted a double for WP.

 

In game two, RT managed three hits, doubles from Ty Panker and Elishah Ramos, and a single from David Judkins. Kobbe Clairy slammed two triples and a double for WP, Silas Cross blasted two singles and two doubles, and Jason Richards dropped in a triple and a single. Levi Cantrell rounded out WP’s offensive effort with a single.

 

Webb’s Pharmacy played two games on May 5, losing 5-2 to Robert’s ice and taking Rice’s Tigers 4-1.

 

The first game of the night saw RI score seven runs on six hits, while WP scored only twice on five hits. Shadie Rankhorn ripped one out of the park for RI, and Kolter Kilgore hit a single and a double. Matt Rowe put two singles in, and Konner Young added a single.

 

Jason Richards hammered a triple for WP, while Brayden Tubbs hit two singles and a double. Levi Cantrell added a single for Webb’s.

 

WP pulled out a 4-1 win over RT with three hits, a double by Levi Cantrell, and singles from Silas Cross and Jason Richards.

 

Robert’s Ice played two on May 9, taking Webb’s 4-3 and Rice’s 7-3.

 

In a close first game, RI scored four runs on two hits, while WP put three runs up on two hits. Evan Sprague and Jason Richards singled for WP, and Kolter Kilgore and Logan O’Conner singled for RI.

 

RT had only one hit in the late game, a double off the bat of Ty Panker, while RI scored seven runs on three hits. Shadie Rankhorn belted a triple, Tyler Parsley a double, and Isaac Magourick hit a single.

 

Webb’s number came up for a double-header on May 16, and they split the ticket, being defeated by Rice’s 5-2 in the first game, and handing Robert’s their first loss of the season in a 3-2 late game.

 

WP scored two runs on two hits, a single by Jacob Beaty and a double from Ty Panker. RT put five runs across on two hits, singles from Kobbe Clairy and Matt Rowe.

 

Robert’s fell for the first time this season in the late game, scoring two runs on two hits while Webb’s scored three on six hits. Tyler Estes and Matt Rowe hit singles for RI, while Kobbe Clairy hit three singles, Levi Cantrell Hit two singles, and Silas cross added a one-bagger for WP.

 

Rice’s Tigers pulled double duty on May 23, falling 9-6 to Robert’s, and 10-6 to Webb’s.

 

In the first game, RI scored nine runs on three hits. Dex Emberton slapped a double, while Konner Young and Kolter Kilgore put singles in for Robert’s. RT scored six runs on five hits. Axel Aldino, Ty Panker and Elijah Ramos all singled for Rice’s, and David Judkins helped out with a single and a double.

 

The second contest of the night saw Webb’s score 10 runs on six hits, with a triple and a single from Silas Cross, singles from Evan Sprague and Levi Cantrell, and a Kobbe Clairy double. Axel Aldino hit a single and a double for RT, Elijah Ramos put in a double, and David Judkins and Ty Panker singled.

 

Robert’s took a 7-0 beating from Webb’s on May 26.

 

RI went scoreless on four hits, a Matt Rowe double and singles from Tyler Estes, Konner Young and Kolter Kilgore. WP put seven runs across on seven hits, with Brayden Tubbs slapping out a single and a double, Silas Cross, Kobbe Clairy and Levi Cantrell hitting doubles, and Jason Richards and Peyton Hallum contributing singles.

 

Webb’s kept the momentum up for the late game, scoring 10 runs on seven hits, while Rice’s scored five times on three hits. Axel Aldino and David Martinez doubled for RT, and David Judkins put in a single. James Tramel ripped an inside-the-park homer for WP, Evan Sprague added a triple and a single and Peyton Hallum hit two singles. Silas Cross and Brayden Tubbs helped Webb’s effort with singles.
