Runners and walkers couldn’t have asked for better weather for the 16th Annual Fiddler 5K and One-Mile Fun Run last Saturday morning. Despite bright blue skies, the temperature was in the low 60’s at race time, making for an enjoyable race for both participants and spectators. This year’s race involved 356 participants, up from last year when heavy rain accompanied the event.
Funds for the race go towards the DeKalb County Habitat for Humanity, helping provide homes to deserving families.
This year’s overall 5K winner and top male was 33-year-old Jacob Carrigan win a time of 16:42.9. The top female was 10-year-old Hope Ilias of Lebanon with a time of 20:22.5.
In the Masters Division, 43-year-old Scott Fanning of Lebanon came in with a time of 17:36 for the males, while 41-year-old Tracy Burtnett of Lebanon had a time of 22:47 for the females.
In the 9 Under Division Seven-year-old Brady Adcock of Nashville won the boys with a time of 36:11.9, while nine-year-old Blair Rochelle of Brentwood came in with 41:41.4 for the girls.
James Seay of Watertown had a time of 22:05.5 for the boys in the 10-14 Division, while Zettie Elrod of Woodbury came in with 23:18.3 for the girls.
In the 15-19 Division, Spencer Morse had a time of 19:34.2 for the males, with Hannah Whited getting 21:31.7 for the females.
Peter Essler had a time of 22:15.3 for the 20-24 Division males, while Smithville’s own Andrea Leon had a time of 22:51.5 for the females.
Brant Wheeler of Cookeville had a time of 20:05.1 for the males in the 25-29 Division, while Jessica Kinnard had a time of 28:22.1 for the females.
In the 30-34 Division, Joseph Crane had a time of 19:27.3 for the males, while Naney Gauss had a time of 23:52.6 for the females.
Travis Herbranson, was first in the 35-39 Division with a time of 19:44.5, with Shannon Neal of Cookeville getting first for the females with a time of 27:27.9.
Jeffery Bandy of McMinnville had a time of 20:12.1 for the males in the 40-44 Division. Jeanie Fanning of Lebanon had a time of 25:35.7 for the females.
In the 45-49 Division, Roger Brady of Murfreesboro had a time of 20:44.5 for the males, while Tammie Wright of Cookeville had a time of 28:38.5 for the females.
Jackie Dawson of Pleasant Shade had a time of 20:36.8 for the males in the 50-54 Division, while Lindy Jenkins of Smithville had a time of 28:49.2 for the females.
In the 55-59 Division, David Guidara of Advance, NC had a time of 29:56.3 for the males, while Carol Bumbalough of Brentwood had a time of 27:46.8 for the females.
David Burka was first in the 60-64 Division with a time of 22:58 for the men, while Tina Buchanan of Cullman AL had a time of 33:54.9 for the ladies.
In the 65-69 Division, Danny Jenkins of Smithville was first for the men with a time of 29:49, while Janet Jernigan of Bradyville had a time of 30:46.5 for the ladies.
James Ervin of Smithville had a time of 38:37.7 in the 70-74 Division, while in the 75-79 Division Stephen Khleif of Crossville had a time of 41:04.8.
In the 80 Up Division, Jack Watkins of Clemmons, NC had a time of 38:24.7.
In the One-Mile Fun Run competition, Joshua Burnett was the top male with a time of 6:55.3. Evan Elizabeth Welch of Sparta was top female with a time of 6:45.8.
In the 12 Under Division, Conner Close of Smithville had a time of 7:05.8 for the boys, while Lila Parker of Atlanta had a time of 8:53.6 for the girls.
