Another DCHS basketball standout will be continuing his career at the college level. Elishah Ramos signed a letter of intent on Tuesday, May 9, to join the Bethel University Wildcats in McKenzie, Tennessee, next season. Ramos was joined by fellow players, coaches, and family during the signing ceremony at DCHS.
“We knew he had the ability to go that extra step into college,” said Assistant DCHS Basketball Coach Cody Randolph. “I have known Elishah since he was in the 6th grade and one thing you never had to question was his love for the game. He was always putting in the extra work and enjoyed putting in the time. We couldn’t be more proud to see what he does in the future at Bethel.”
“Just the intensity and the spark he brought to the game,” Randolph continued. “He brought a flair out there on the court. Watching him play as a young boy, he always had such good court vision and always able to make a pass you may not have thought was makeable.”
Coach Agee was unable to attend the signing due to his being at a funeral service.
I just really liked the smaller Christian school,” Ramos said. “You really get to know your professors and I felt like it would be a more personal experience.”
With the Tigers, Ramos played shooting guard and point guard but said he has no idea what position he will be playing for Bethel. When asked about his experience at DCHS he had fond things to say. “The new coaches coming in really showed us a lot of love and support, being there for us in the hard times and the great times and helping us keep our minds and mentality straight,” said Ramos. “the rest comes with it.”
Ramos said that at Bethel, he plans to earn a degree in business. The Bethel University Wildcats are members of the Mid-South Conference
