The DeKalb Middle School Saints fell to Gordonsville in a 44-13 game on Nov. 21.
DMS was outpaced 31-1 in the first period and 8-4 in the second, giving Gordonsville a 21-5 advantage at half time. An 18-point third period for Gordonsville, answered with five points from DMS, brought the score to 39-10 at the beginning of the final period. DeKalb scored three in the fourth, while Gordonsville put five in to take the win.
J.J. Pack led DeKalb’s effort with eight points in the game, going four-for-four at the free-throw line and hitting a two-point shot. Jordan Young went three-for-four from the line for three points in the game, and Isaac Knowles hit two free throws for two points.
DMS will travel to Prescott Middle on Dec. 5, and to Van Buren County on Dec. 6. The team will then return home to face Baxter on Dec. 8. Games begin at 6 p.m.
