The Saints ran their winning streak to four games last Monday night when the Saints traveled to Watertown to take on the Tigers in a non-conference game.  Led by mobile quarterback, Collin Donnell’s three touchdowns on the ground, the Saints manhandled the Tigers 38-6.

The Saints’ entire offensive unit took control of the game from the first drive and never let up, allowing Coach Poteete to play his junior squad for the entire second half.  DeKalb’s defense continued to shine, allowing only 7 Tiger offensive plays and 7 total yards of offense in the first half while forcing a punt, a fumble and getting an interception.  Even the Saints’ special teams got into the act, recovering two muffed kicks on Saint’s kickoffs.

The Saints began the game by marching 51 yards downfield on 6 plays to send Donnell into the endzone from 6 yards out.  Donnell converted the two-point try and with 4:56 left in the first, DeKalb led 8-0.

The Blue and Red Defense forced a three-and-out, putting Saints in business again at their own 35-yard line.  6 plays later, running back Gavin Frazier found the endzone again for the Saints, breaking free from 21 yards out.  Donnell again converted on the two-point try and with 14 seconds left in the quarter, the Saints found themselves ahead 16-0.

Watertown would take over on their own 44-yard line after the Saints kickoff tumbled out of bounds, but would fumble two plays later to turn the ball over to the Saints again on Watertown’s 35 yard-line.  5 plays later Donnell would run in from 5 yards out to increase DeKalb’s lead.  The conversion attempt would fail this time, but with just 45 seconds gone in the second quarter, DeKalb led 22-0.

Disaster arrived again for Watertown as they would muff the ensuing kickoff, setting the Saints up on offense again, this time near midfield.  After a penalty set the Saints back, the offense began its march downfield again, this time covering 48 yards on 6 plays, before running back Dominic Williamson would rumble in from 4 yards out to put DeKalb on the board again.  The two-point conversion was good and with 3:19 left in the half, the Saints increased their lead to 30-0.

The Tigers would again muff the ensuing kickoff and after an errant Saints chop block, DeKalb would begin its offensive march again.  DeKalb would methodically move the ball 51-yards on 9 plays on runs by Donnell, and Williamson before Donnell would find the endzone again, this time from 7 yards out.  Preston Taylor would run in the conversion attempt and with just 18 seconds left in the half, DeKalb’s lead increased to 38-0.

Williamson would intercept a Watertown pass to end the half before a running clock and DeKalb’s younger players would take over in the second half.

DeKalb’s second-string defense looked very promising, allowing only one touchdown in the second half while continually putting pressure on the Tiger quarterback.  Running backs Keegan Taylor, Zander Simpson, Jackson Lattimore, Landon Holmes and Anthony Shay all saw action on the ground for the Saints in the second half and found some success against the Tiger first-string defensive unit, but more importantly, closing out the win for DeKalb, 38-6.

With the win, the Saints finished the regular season with an impressive 6-3 record, setting them up for one postseason game with Algood in consolation later in the week.
