Tiger soccer takes two road games

The DeKalb Tiger soccer squad won two recent road games. The Tigers took a 5-2 win over Jackson County on March 28.

 

Wesley Carpenter put a goal in in the 25th minute of the first half of the game and the 36th minute of the second for DeKalb, while Cristobal Flores scored twice as well, in the 16th and 28th minutes of the second half. Brady Gill drew first blood for the Tigers, placing a goal in the ninth minute of the match.

 

Goalie Jose Torres recorded six saves in the contest.

 

Then, on April 4, the Tiger team took Upperman down in a 6-0 rout.

 

Carpenter led DeKalb with three goals, scoring first for the Tigers in the sixth minute of the game, and twice in the second half, at the fourth and 29th minutes. Flores added two more DeKalb goals, and Luke Bryant rounded out the Tiger scorecard with a goal in the 31st minute of the match.

 

Torres saved five at goalie against the Bees.

 

The Tigers, now 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the district, will travel to Gatlinburg this weekend to play in a tournament, and will return home to host York Institute at 6:30 p.m. on April 11.
