Tigers get a sting from the Bees
Tigers

The DeKalb County High School Tigers baseball team fell short in a game against Upperman last week. They took the early lead, but then watched the Bees pull away.

The Tigers would get on the board first, scoring one run at the top of the first inning. Ty Webb reached on a pop fly and an error by left field, and would take second on the same error. Carter Cook would then single on a line drive to right as Webb took third. Brayden Carter was up next and would ground out to first, but allow Webb to cross home plate. DeKalb was up 1-0.

Upperman would go three and out at their first at bat, but so would the Tigers at the top of the second. At the bottom of the second, the Bees would score one run on a grounder and an error by left fielder Andrew Dakas, then another run on a line drive to center fielder Brayden Carter. The Tigers would get off the field but the Bees claimed the 2-1 lead.

DeKalb would tie the game at the top of the third, after Carter Cook reached on a grounder and an error by third base, taking second on the same error. Carter was up next and doubled on a line drive to right as Cook came home. Unfortunately that would be the last points the Tigers would see.

The Bees would come away with three runs at the bottom of the fourth, and one more at the bottom of the sixth to take the 6-2 win.

Cook took the loss from the mound, going five innings, allowing six runs on five hits and striking out four.
