The DeKalb County High School Tigers soccer team was on fire last week, dominating while on the road. Over the two games just one goal was allowed.
On Tuesday, April 19, the Tigers were on the road to Sparta where they went up against the Warriors of White County. DeKalb would end up with a shutout.
Miguel Mata scored a goal seven minutes into play, followed by a goal by Cooper Brown, with an assist by Miguel Mata, at the 24 minute mark.
Yair Mata scored with an assist by Miguel just one minute later, then at 32 minutes, Miguel Mata hit the net with a free kick.
Cale Brown would top off the goals for DeKalb in the second half, with an assist by Leo Delgado. The Tigers claimed the 5-0 victory.
Conner Vance had six saves in the game.
The following Thursday the Tigers were again on the road, this time traveling to Baxter to take on the Upperman Bees. It would be another good night for DeKalb.
Miguel Mata hit the net nine minutes into play with an assist by Axel Aranda, then Upperman’s Ian McAfee would tie things up before the half.
Axel Aranda would get his own goal 62 minutes into play, then two minutes later Yair Mata would get on the board with an assist by Cameron Miller. Aranda would seal the win at the 68 minute mark, giving the Tigers the 4-1 win.
Once again, goalie Conner Vance had six saves in the game.
