Cynthia Woodward

A local woman has been chosen to represent the USA as part of a basketball team during international competition. But, while the invitation is a great honor, she needs your help to make her dream come true.
Twenty-one-year-old Cynthia Woodward, daughter of Tim and Janet Woodward of Smithville, was chosen among a select group of players across the nation to represent the USA for her success in basketball. She will be traveling to Italy to compete against club and national level teams during the summer of 2014.
Team AIST Basketball’s Italy Tour will be made up of an elite group of collegiate players that AIST and their coaches have selected to represent the USA. Woodward was chosen amongst players who have earned All-American, All-Region or All-Conference honors at the Division II and III, NAIA, Jr. College levels as well as players from the Division I level. The roster will consist of 10-12 players and is limited to those players they have selected.
Woodward attends Freed Hardeman as a nursing student, and was the nation’s number one NAIA Division I three-point field goal percentage leader last year. While being selected is a great honor, players are required to pay for the expenses of the trip. Woodward will need around $4,000 over the next few months to secure her playing spot.
