Rhonda Caplinger has been named the new branch manager of Liberty State Banks Smithville office.

Long-serving Liberty State Bank Vice President and Branch Manager Ronnie Goodwin announced his retirement in September with a going-away reception at the Smithville branch office which left a vacancy but not for long.
“Liberty State Bank is very pleased to announce the promotion of Rhonda Caplinger to branch manager of our Smithville office. Rhonda has worked at our bank for 22 years in various roles and was most recently an Assistant Vice President and Assistant Manager for the bank. Rhonda is active in the Smithville community with activities such as the Lions Club, Relay for Life Committee, the Professional Women’s Club, and the Smithville Church of God.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Tennessee Tech and is a graduate of the Southeastern School of Banking.
When asked about her new role with Liberty State Bank, Rhonda said “I have big shoes to fill and want to wish Ronnie every joy in his retirement. My goal is and has always been to serve the members of our local community financially with respect and gratitude.  I truly love being able help people. We at Liberty State Bank want our customers to feel like family and to know we’ve got their backs. The staff at our Smithville office is simply the best, and they take great pride in helping our customers with individual attention and care.”
Mike Robbins, Executive Vice President and North Regional Manager with Liberty State Bank said “Rhonda has been with our company for 22 years, most recently as the Assistant Manager of the Smithville office.  She has the experience, customer focus and leadership skills to continue our successful growth in the Smithville market.  I look forward to working with her in this new role.”
“We are blessed.  My husband, Charlie, and I have lived in this community all our lives and have raised our children, Michael and Jennifer, here with our large family, wonderful church, and great friends.  This is our home. I’m invested in DeKalb County and want it to thrive” said Rhonda.
“Please join us in congratulating Rhonda on this promotion!”
