Webb charged with assault for knife attack

Quonisha Bonique Webb, 18, of Sparta has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly cutting a man with a knife during an argument.

According to Sheriff Patrick Ray on Friday, Sept. 29, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Sparta Highway in response to a domestic complaint.

Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Webb and a man and learned that the two had been in an altercation.

According to the man, he and Webb had gotten into an argument when she pulled a knife and cut him. Webb stated she cut the man in self-defense. A third-party witness said she saw Webb on top of the man cutting him with a knife.

Webb is under a $5,000 bond and has a court date of Oct. 26

 

 

Smithville man charged with domestic assault

Jose Alberto-Narvaez Becerra, 32, of, Smithville is charged with aggravated assault.

On Friday, Sept. 29 a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department deputy responded to a DeKalb Sheriff’s Department for a domestic-related incident that happened Sept. 28 at approximately 4:30. A woman came to the jail and reported to a deputy that Becerra grabbed her by the arms and then her throat trying to strangle her. The woman had bruising and redness due to the altercation.

The deputy then filed the charge against Becerra. His bond is $5,000 and has a court date of Oct. 26.

 

Detectives resolve two theft cases

Crystal Alice Turner, 42, Smithville was arrested Sept. 26 charged with theft of property. Her bond is $4,500 and her court date is Oct. 12.

On August 15 Turner allegedly took a Sanyo television and Sanyo DVD player from a home on A.B. Frazier Road. The TV was valued at $400. The DVD was valued $25.

The case was investigated by a sheriff’s department detective.

Sarah Jayne Davidson, 27, of Manchester was arrested Sept.  28 charged with theft of property over $1,000. She is under a $5,000 bond and her court date is Oct. 12.

Sheriff Ray said that on July 14 Davidson allegedly took a Dell M-6500 laptop, valued at $2,100, with the intent to deprive the owner of their property.

The case was investigated by a sheriff’s department detective.

 

Waters charged with possession with the intent to sell meth

Christopher Jeriel Waters, 35, of Watertown was arrested Monday, Oct. 2, and charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell or deliver. He was further cited for driving on a revoked license (revocation due to failure to pay child support), violation of the light law, and possession of drug paraphernalia (set of digital scales). His bond is $10,000 and his court date is Oct. 26.

On Monday, Oct. 2 a deputy made a traffic stop on a car with a driver-side brake light not working on a vehicle traveling on Cookeville Highway. He made a traffic stop near the intersection with Floating Mill Road and spoke with Waters, the driver.

A computer check revealed that Waters had an active arrest warrant against him from Wilson County. He was then placed into custody for the active warrant. During a search of Waters’ person, the officer found a set of digital scales and a small clear baggie in his front right pocket that contained 1.6 grams of a clear crystal-like substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine.

 

Allen pulls pistol during assault on woman

Kobe Bryant Allen, 29, of Smithville is charged with aggravated assault. According to the sheriff, on Tuesday, Sept. 26 a woman came to the sheriff’s office with her children seeking help getting away from her husband, Allen. The woman claims she was at home when Allen came in and began arguing with her and then pulled a pistol, pointed it at her, and threatened to kill her. She further claimed that Allen then punched her in the ribs and tried to choke her. Allen was placed under arrest.

His bond is $7,500 and his court date is Oct. 12.

 

Wilbert charged with assault, evading arrest and vandalism

Nathan Joseph Wilbert, 37, of Dowelltown is charged with domestic assault, evading arrest, and vandalism over $1,000.

On Saturday, Sept. 23, a DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputy responded to Vandergriff Hollow Road due to a possible altercation. Upon arrival the deputy spoke with a female who stated that she got out of her car to check on her grandson, Nathan Wilbert.  Wilbert then ran toward he, causing her to fear for her life or bodily injury. As she got back inside the vehicle, Wilbert kicked the door, causing more than $1,000 in damage. On the following Monday, Sept. 25, as a deputy was attempting to arrest Wilbert on an outstanding domestic assault warrant, he (Wilbert) did run on  foot and evade arrest after being ordered to stop because he was under arrest.

Wilbert was placed under a $10,500 bond and his court date is Oct. 5.
