The Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA), the leading association for lower middle market private equity funds and investors, today announced that Fast Pace Urgent Care, a portfolio company of SBIA member firm Resolute Capital Partners, has won the association’s 2017 Portfolio Company of the Year Award. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Resolute Capital Partners is a provider of mezzanine debt and minority equity for small, growing businesses nationwide.

The SBIA honored Fast Pace Urgent Care and Resolute Capital Partners with the award today at its National Summit for Middle Market Funds, which brings together over 500 industry practitioners within the lower middle market for the latest industry insights and deal trends.

The Small Business Investor Alliance Portfolio Company of the Year Award recognizes the effectiveness of private equity financing and the value of the partnership between private investors and small businesses. The award has been presented to 38 outstanding SBIA-member portfolio companies since 1987. Previous award winners have included such recognized companies as Intel, Callaway Golf, and Build-A-Bear Workshop.

This year’s winner, Fast Pace Urgent Care, was selected from amongst a group of highly competitive, successful companies throughout the country. Fast Pace was founded in 2009 and is the largest independent provider of urgent care and primary care services in Tennessee. Headquartered in Brentwood, Fast Pace provides convenient and affordable healthcare services to rural markets throughout Tennessee and Kentucky, including treatment for a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and common conditions and diagnostic and screening services.

The doors to the first Fast Pace Urgent Care Clinic were opened in Collinwood, Tennessee in October of 2009. With the addition of staff and continued requests for clinic locations, Fast Pace experienced rapid growth. They grew from two clinics to ten with locations in Selmer, Lexington, Fayetteville, Fairview, Centerville, Lewisburg, Lawrenceburg, and Mt. Pleasant.

As the business grew, so did the framework for future growth and development. The clinic has grown from its initial seven employees to more than 500 clinical staff and 56 locations across Middle and West Tennessee with plans for future expansion.

With expansion comes the convenience of being able to be treated at any of the Fast Pace locations without the hassle of transferring insurance and payment information or medical history. The clinics are electronically linked so that if you have to be seen at a clinic miles from home, your information is available to healthcare professionals on the spot.

Though the growth continues, there is still very much the same small-town feel. Each clinic is staffed by locals, and they also provide support staff - maintenance, landscaping, construction and cleaning crews. Each clinic supports the community through a membership in their local Chambers of Commerce and by sponsorships of everything from community events, to local charities, to sports teams, and clinic staff is encouraged to volunteer wherever their interests lie.

“Fast Pace is about meeting community needs and making quality, compassionate, and affordable healthcare accessible in areas in critical need of support,” said Stan Bevis, CEO and Founder of Fast Pace Urgent Care. “The partnership we forged with Resolute Capital allowed us to not only achieve our dream of expanding community-based care, but has helped us transform the lives of thousands of people in need of healthcare. We are thankful to have had their support in creating this remarkable success story.”

“Stan and the team are an incredible group of people with amazing drive and energy. It is truly humbling to learn how many people’s lives have changed because of this investment. Their story makes us proud to come in to work every day and do what we do - because we really can change communities for the better. We are very proud of this company,” said Bill Nutter, Partner, Resolute Capital Partners.
