Friendly visits brighten days

The Dry Creek valley has been pretty quiet this week. We did enjoy a recent visit from Edward Frazier, Jerry and Susan Hinton. Edward is a specialist in trees and bushes, so we often get on that topic. It was a pleasure to spend time with Edward and his family. Come visit again soon.

We were saddened to hear of the sudden death of Billy Willoughby of Alexandria. We remember his dear wife Mrs. Sue. Our prayers are with his children, Mark Willoughby and Pat Allen. Pat and her husband, J.C., recently lost their home in a fire, so please remember them during these hard days.

Two of our daughters have recently celebrated birthdays, Lisa Cripps and Deborah Fuson. Lisa enjoyed a surprise party with many of her family and friends at Mauricio’s Italian Restaurant in Cookeville. Several of her friends took her out for lunch at various times and Sunday lunch was the last celebration with her son’s family, Matt and Melody Cripps. She really enjoyed all the fuss, which eased the pressure of turning another big number. Deborah celebrated her birthday with her husband in Cabot, AR. We wish them both many more years of health and happy birthdays.

We are looking forward to all the Valentine’s Day festivities at Dry Creek Baptist Church. Please remember the following in your prayers: Jimmy Kimbrell, Jerry Foster, Boyd Cantrell, Brandon Kent, Kim Hale-Robins, and Harold Dawes.

We should be striving to make ourselves and our churches a holy dwelling place for the Lord.

In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
