The sheriff's department arrested a local man on charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance for resale last week after a deputy allegedly found him to be in possession of illegal pills and a large amount of cash.
Jermaine Derperise McCoy, 36, was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance for resale and cited for having no driver license.
 According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a drug detective stopped McCoy on April for not having a valid driver license. McCoy reportedly gave the officer consent to search his person and vehicle.
The sheriff said two baggies containing pills believed to have been packaged for resale were found in his left pants pocket. One baggie allegedly contained three blue 30 milligram Oxycodone pills, while the other contained four white 20 milligram Oxycodone pills.
Ray said McCoy also had $602 in his pocket, and could not provide a valid prescription for the pills.His bond was set at $5,000 and he will appear in court on May 22.
Shauna Leeann Anderson of Alexandria, 41, was charged with aggravated assault on April 22.
The sheriff said a deputy was dispatched to check out a call about an argument in progress at a Martin Lane home in Alexandria. He reportedly spoke with a woman who said Anderson, her mother, had assaulted her with a baseball bat.
The deputy noticed that the alleged victim had physical marks and swelling in the areas of her left arm and right wrist, and Anderson reportedly admitted to the officer that she had assaulted the victim with the bat. An investigation concluded that Anderson was the primary aggressor, and she was placed under arrest. The victim was taken by DeKalb EMS to the hospital.
Anderson's bond was set at $10,000 and she will appear in court on May 15.
Joseph Kilzer, 28, was charged with aggravated assault on April 27.
Ray said a deputy dispatched to a physical domestic call at a Parkway Drive residence spoke with a woman who said that she and Kilzer, her boyfriend, had been arguing over her having damaged a guitar. She said Kilzer became very irate and tried to strangle her. She reportedly had red marks on her neck.
His bond was set at $5,000 and he will appear in court on May 1.
Rosemary Joyce Anderson, 27, was charged with domestic assault on April 27.
The sheriff said a deputy responded to a call of a disturbance at a Cecil Hale Road home. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with Anderson, who he said was aggressive and irate, outside the residence.
The officer apparently was told that Anderson had gone to a neighbor's home with the intentions of assaulting her estranged husband's girlfriend. Her husband reportedly stepped between the wife and girlfriend, and  Anderson allegedly struck him in the face and pulled his shirt.
She reportedly admitted to the deputy that she had assaulted her husband, and had intended to assault his girlfriend. Her bond was set at $2,500 and she will appear in court on May 1.
Bridgette Nicole Stafford, 23, was charged with domestic assault on April 27.
Ray said a deputy responded to a domestic violence call at a Kings Court residence. He spoke to Stafford, who reportedly told him that she had gotten into an argument with a man who had accidentally struck her, and  had hit him several times in the face. The man, who apparently did not retaliate, had visible injuries.
Her bond was set at $2,500 and she will appear in court on May 1.
