Man charged with DUI after rollover
A 26-year-old Smithville man who was injured when his car overturned on Highway 56 on New Year's night also faces DUI charges. According to Trooper Jeremy Wilhite of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Andrew Tyler Hall of Midway Road was traveling north in a 1994 Buick when he left the roadway, hit a culvert and overturned south of Whorton Springs Church shortly after 9 p.m. The car came to rest on its wheels a few feet off the highway. Hall was treated by DeKalb EMS at the scene, then transported to DeKalb Community Hospital for further treatment. He was charged with a second offense of driving under the influence.
