A 30-year-old Smithville man indicted for allegedly raping an eight-year-old male and exposing him to the HIV virus has been served with another indictment from the DeKalb County Grand Jury, this one sealed, for the rape of a nine-year-old male.Jose Juan Reyes was indicted on two counts of rape of a child and one count of criminal exposure to HIV in the first indictment, and rape of a child and criminal exposure to HIV in the second, sealed indictment.Sheriff Patrick Ray said the sealed indictment was served on April 3.According to the indictments, Reyes allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual penetration of the eight-year-old boy on two occasions in February, constituting the offense of rape of a child and that he did this knowing he was infected with HIV constituting the offense of criminal exposure to HIV. This allegedly occurred at Reyes' residence on Blue Springs Road.The sealed indictment accuses Reyes of molesting another boy, age nine, and exposing him to the virus as well.Reyes was arraigned in DeKalb County Criminal Court on April 8.His bond was set at $100,000, and he appeared in court for arraignment on April 8.The two cases were investigated by detectives of the Sheriff's Department.
