Smithville Elementary School students honoring DeKalb County’s war heroes is an annual event where students sing patriotic songs to honor those who served.

Last year, students led by Kelly Birmingham performed "God Bless the USA," as well as the hymns of the four branches of the military. Adrienne McCormick read a poem “Veteran’s Day” by Cheryl Dyson:

This year’s event begins at 9:30 a.m. where all veterans are invited. Guests will need to be at the school by 9:15 a.m. For additional information call 615-597-4415.
