Sparkman caught after three-hour manhunt

A 30-year-old man was charged with evading arrest on April 21.

 

According Smithville police, Justin Nathaniel Sparkman fled from Wal-Mart Loss Prevention while being questioned about a possible theft from the store.  He ran from the store, but was reportedly spotted by law enforcement on the front porch of a nearby residence. 

 

Police said that when Sparkman saw the officers he ran into nearby woods.  He was then seen approximately three hours later in Hardees’ parking lot, where he was taken into custody without incident. 

 

His bond is $1,500, and his court date is May 11.

 

Meanwhile, Donnie Ray Gillman, 36, was arrested for theft and burglary on April 27. 

 

Police said Gillman entered an outbuilding on Dearman Street and took several tools belonging to the victim without his knowledge or consent.  Upon investigation, the items were returned to the victim and Gillman was taken into custody without incident.

 

His bond was set at $7,500, and his court date is May 11.

 

Deborah Ann Pierce, 55, was cited for theft of property on April 24.

 

Police said an officer took a report from a victim who had left his wallet on the register at Wal-Mart, and when he went back to retrieve it, it was gone.  Upon investigation, Pierce could allegedly be seen on video surveillance taking the wallet. 

 

Her court date is May 11.

 

Heather Leigh Stanridge, 26, was cited for theft of property on April 27.

 

Stanridge allegedly put several products belonging to Mapco in her purse in an attempt to deprive the business of its merchandise.

 

She will appear in court on May 11.

 

Justin Ray Lohorn, 31, was cited for two counts of simple possession on April 26.

 

Police said that on or about April 24, Lohorn is believed to have been in possession of approximately 1/2 gram of crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine while at work at Star Manufacturing. Two days later Lohorn was located at Hardees for the incident that occurred at his employment and was found to be in possession on this date of a white pill believed to Suboxone, which he didn’t have a prescription for. 

 

His court date is May 11.

 

Sandra Kay Thomason, 50, was arrested for public intoxication on April 21. 

 

Thomason was allegedly outside of her home in the front yard, yelling and cursing at people.  She was reportedly unsteady on her feet, and her speech was slurred. 

 

Her bond is $1,500, and her court date is May 11.

 

Cindy Renea James, 36, was arrested on April 17 for a fifth offense of driving on a revoked and cited for speeding. 

 

Police reportedly observed a vehicle traveling 62mph in a 45mph speed zone, confirmed by radar.  Upon contact with the driver, who was found to be Cindy James, she informed the officer that she didn't have a valid driver's license. 

 

A computer check through Central Dispatch revealed that she has four prior driving no suspended/revoked convictions. 

 

Her bond is $5,000, and he will appear in court on May 18.

 

Jessica L Bain, 28, was arrested on April 17 for public intoxication. 

 

Police responded to a domestic on College Street, and upon arrival, the officer observed a female chasing a male subject carrying an infant child up the sidewalk.  The officer separated the parties and spoke with the female subject who was identified as Jessica Bain. 

 

Bain was allegedly unsteady on her feet and had the odor of alcohol coming from her breathe.  Bain was determined to be a danger to herself and the safety of others due to the intoxication, and was taken into custody without incident. 

 

Her bond was set at $1,500, and her court date is May 18.
