Kimberly Dawn Hunter, 27, of Smithville was arrested on Feb. 18 for filing a false report. Her bond was set at 5,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court March 9.

The charge stems from a Feb 18 when a DeKalb Sheriff’s deputy, other members of the Sheriff’s Department and THP attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Short Mountain Highway.

Though law enforcement attempted to make contact, no one would come to the door. Having prior knowledge that the wanted person, Bobby Jewel Wilson, was in the residence forced entry was made where Hunter was found hiding in a bathroom. Though the deputy asked Hunter multiple times where Wilson was hiding, Hunter allegedly maintained he was not there. Wilson was found in the bathroom hiding under the sink in a cabinet. Hunter was arrested and charged with filing a false report.

Bobby Jewel Wilson, 26, of Smithville was arrested and charged with

Failure to appear, caring or possession of a weapon by a felon, and resisting stop/frisk/halt. His total bond was $58,000 and a March 9 court date was set.

The failure to appear charge carries a $40,000 bond from a charge in General Sessions Court where Wilson failed to appear on aggravated assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon involved, possession of a weapon/convicted felon and a failure to appear misdemeanor.

While being handcuffed, Wilson allegedly pulled his hands away from the deputy resisting arrest. When law enforcement did a protective sweep through the residence, a Sun City Savage 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun was found under the bathtub in a space in a bedroom where Wilson stayed in.
