A 41-year-old local woman who was involved in a police pursuit in Wilson County recently reportedly leapt from a second-story balcony in an attempt to avoid arrest by the sheriff’s department last week.
Candida Faye Davidson was arrested on Feb. 27 and charged with evading arrest and failure to appear in court.
Sheriff Patrick Ray said Davidson failed to appear on a violation of probation charge, and a bench warrant was issued in General Sessions Court.
A detective attempting to pick her up on Feb. 7 reportedly found Davidson outside Brookview Apartments, but she allegedly ran into an apartment when the detective identified himself.
Ray said she reportedly refused to answer the door, and when the detective gained entry to the apartment, she ran out the back door and jumped from a second story balcony in an attempt to escape.
Davidson was airlifted for medical treatment, but was apparently not seriously hurt, and was released from the hospital.
She is under a $250 cash bond on the failure to appear charge, and a $1500 bond on evading arrest. She is set to appear in court on March 13.
Davidson, along with 51-year-old Edward Judkins were taken into custody by Mt. Juliet Police on February 27 after a short pursuit in Wilson County.
Davidson faces charges there of possession of a Schedule VI drug after she allegedly attempted to conceal a bag of marijuana during the incident.
Judkins was charged with evading arrest and reckless endangerment in the Wilson County arrest.
