A DeKalb County High School senior has been charged with sexual battery after he allegedly touched a female student’s buttocks and slid his hand up her shirt while they were at school.

The suspect, Billy Ray Young, 18, was arrested at school and charged with sexual battery. He is set for arraignment on Oct. 11.

His arrest comes after a school resource officer was notified that a girl at the high school had been inappropriately touched by Young. The officer investigated and the victim confirmed it had happened. When questioned about the incident, the girl told officers that Young came up behind her in the cafeteria and asked her if he made her feel uncomfortable. When she did not answer, Young allegedly grabbed her buttocks and slid his hand up her shirt.
